For small-business websites

Your website, looked after every month.

Most small sites break the same quiet ways: an update nobody ran, a backup nobody took, an outage nobody noticed. Care handles all three for $99 a month and tells you what it did.

What's covered

Four jobs, done on a schedule so you don't have to remember them.

1
Updates

Software, theme and plugin updates, done for you.

2
Backups

Regular backups, so a bad update or a hack can be undone.

3
Uptime monitoring

If your site goes down, you hear about it.

4
Monthly report

A short written report each month of what was done.

The care plan in detail

What I actually do, what I need from you, and where the edges are.

Good fit if
  • You have a business website on WordPress, Shopify, Wix or Squarespace that you own
  • Nobody is currently updating, backing up or watching it
  • You would rather read a short monthly report than manage it yourself
Not the right thing if
  • You want new pages, a redesign or new features (that is a project, quoted separately)
  • Your site is already broken and you want it fixed first (problems that existed before the plan are quoted separately)
  • Your site is on a platform I cannot support. I will tell you before you pay what I can do, and refund your first payment in full if I cannot support it

Updates

Websites run on software that gets new versions all the time, and the old versions are what attackers go after. I apply the updates for your site's core software, theme and plugins or apps.

A backup is taken before updating, and I check the site afterward. If an update breaks something, the backup is how it gets undone.

Backups

A saved copy of your site, kept so that a bad update, a mistake or a hack can be reversed instead of rebuilt from scratch.

What can be backed up depends on the platform. A WordPress site can be copied in full. Hosted platforms such as Shopify, Wix and Squarespace limit what anyone can export, and I will tell you plainly what is and is not covered on yours.

Uptime monitoring

Your site is checked from outside, the way a visitor would reach it. If it stops loading, you hear about it from me instead of from a customer.

Monitoring tells you it is down. When the cause is the hosting company, I tell you what I found and who needs to fix it. Rebuilding a site that has been destroyed is a separate job.

Monthly report

A short written note, by email, listing what was done that month: updates applied, backups kept, any downtime, and anything that needs a decision from you, with the reason in plain words. The example further down shows the format.

What I need from you

  • Your website address
  • Access to the site: an admin login or an invitation as a user, whichever your platform supports
  • A reply when the report says something needs your decision

You stay the owner of the site, the domain and the hosting account. I work inside it, and you can take my access away at any time.

What it does not include

New pages, redesigns, or fixing problems that existed before the plan started. Those are quoted separately. The plan also does not promise more visitors or higher search rankings. It keeps what you have working.

Your first month

  • Day 1: you pay with the button
  • Within one business day: I email you for your site address and access
  • Once I have access: care starts, and the first backup and updates happen
  • End of month one: your first report arrives

See what you would get

Two real formats from the plan: the monthly report, and the alert if your site goes down. The business in them is made up.

Example monthly care report email showing updates applied, backups kept and one item needing a decision
Monthly report. Example email, not a real customer.
Example alert email saying the site was down for 11 minutes and is back online
Downtime alert. Example email, not a real customer.
